Carlene is a multitalented teacher and dancer who began her lifelong passion for this incredible art form at the age of 4 at a dance studio in Warren, Ohio. She began teaching and choreographing at the age of 13, and eventually attended and graduated from Dance Masters. She is now a member of the DMA. Within these years she also completed grade 4 in “The Cecchetti Council of America” under the study of Suzanne Zahnow, also a member of DMA. Carlene has taken classes and has studied under many world renowned dancers, including Greg Russell, Gil Stroming, Mike Minery, Nick Lazzarini, Mia Michaels, Travis Wall, Savion Glover, Jimmy Tate, Gregory Hines, Stepp Stewart, Larraine Susa, Tom Ralabate, and Ray Leeper.
At many competitions, Carlenes dances have garnered special judges awards. including Winning Choreography. Her compositional specialties include tap, hip-hop, and contemporary.
Carlene absolutely loves dance and wants to share her passion with others. She also has passed on her love for dance to her daughter Baylee. She is so blessed and excited to share it with anybody she absolutely can.
As one of Carlene’s favorite quotes maintains, “Dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion”.
