Miss Catlin Owner | Artistic Director | Instructor
Ms. Catlin Gesford has trained in styles including ballet, jazz, musical theatre, hip-hop, modern, contemporary, lyrical, tap, character, acrobatics, and more throughout her entire life. As a result of her commitment to competitive dance throughout high school, she won numerous accolades, scholarships, and awards as a performer. During her senior year of high school, she was awarded the title of TNT Scholarship Dancer at Dancers Inc. National Dance Competition. Ms. Gesford then interned and traveled nationally with Dancer’s Inc. for the 2011-2012 competition season, and still works closely with this esteemed organization. It was through this experience that her passion for teaching dance, in addition to her passion for performance, was ignited. Ms. Gesford recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from The College at Brockport, State University of New York, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Theater. In addition to her studies, Ms. Gesford served as an active member of her campus community as a cheerleader, peer mentor, and the ultimate symbol of school pride during numerous performances as her school’s lovable mascot, Ellsworth the Eagle.
Ms. Gesford possesses a range of pedagogical experiences that allow her to thoughtfully and effectively prepare multiple classes that both appeal to a wide variety of styles and levels as well as the successful choreography of show-stopping numbers for competitions and performances. Throughout her work in New York and Pennsylvania involving teaching for both competitive and recreational studios, Ms. Gesford has gained an appreciation for the value of a well-rounded dance education that exposes students to multiple influences, techniques, artists, and perspectives. She is excited to share her knowledge and passion with her students, and is eager to contribute to the dance community of Myrtle Beach.
