Hi, I’m Ms. Kristen. I have been dancing for nearly 30 years and coaching for 17 years. My coaching journey began in my hometown of Clayton, New Jersey where I coached competitive cheerleading for 7 years, leaving as two time tri-state champions. I moved to Myrtle Beach in 2013 to attend Coastal Carolina University.

In 2018, I graduated with an Interdisciplinary degree in Science with a focus in Kinesiology and Psychology. During my time at Coastal, I taught dance at local studios. I have experience teaching a variety of styles including acro, ballet and musical theatre. While teaching, I began to see a trend forming. Students wanted to learn big, wow tricks, but they wanted to learn them quickly whether or not they were physically ready. This is when I realized my kinesiology background could help by creating technique specific trainings to support growth and development of dancers’ bodies while encouraging them to explore the necessary skills for pulling off more challenging tricks. When a dancer can visualize their muscles, they have an easier time activating them while performing and can create an environment that is safe for investigating and pushing themselves as artists and athletes. I am looking forward to an amazing and inspiring year with PSOD. I can’t wait to meet everyone.
